Missions

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8 (NIV)

Here at Park Place Church, we have a passion for the Great Commission and World Missions.  We support Missions through Local, National and International Organizations.  Below is a list of the different Missionaries and Organizations we support.

Phil & Kristy Boardman

Global Partners

Both Phil & Kristy had a gradual, but clear call to overseas missions.  They both served in the Czech Republic with Global Partners when they were single as volunteers before God called the back as long-term missionaries.
Serving in Brno in the Czech Republic, they desire to be a light in a darkened city through teaching English and working with the local church.  Their Vision is to see Czech Christians in Brno reaching out to non-believers.

Jeff & Angie Hicks

Christar

Serving with Christar in South Asia since 2001, they are working among a Hindu people group.  They are involved in outreach efforts including men's & women's Bible studies, youth & kids programs, medical outreach, literacy programs and establishing house churches.
Their desire is for many more Hindus in this community to come to faith in Christ and that God's church will be established among them.

Carl & Deb Kretchman

Youth With A Mission

Working with Youth With A Mission in Amsterdam Netherlands, they train others in walking as disciples in the context of missions, seeking a lifestyle of intimacy and surrender and being transformed by God's love.
Modeling this in their own lives, they equip and encourage them to reach out to the world around them sharing His mercy and justice with others one-on-one.

LaGonave Wesleyan Hospital

World Hope International

Located on an island off the coast of Haiti, the hospital provided health, hope, and opportunity.  Basic medical services through resident medical staff and visiting teams of specialists have been provided for the past 74 years.   It also serves as a base for community health education and supports rural clinics.  120,000 island residents depend on the hospital for medical & health care.  The hospital employs approximately 90 local people. The medical staff is made up of Haitian doctors and nurses, as well as volunteer specialists who assist in the training of resident nurses and doctors.
La Gonâve Wesleyen Hospital is committed to building a healthcare system that is sustainable, equitable, and serviceable for the community of La Gonâve. To continue to provide the financial care required by the community we rely on partnerships with organizations to work towards energy sustainability and equipping the facility with the resources and skills to maintain long-term clinical operations. We rely on these partnerships as well as individual donors like you to continue to serve this community. Donations are made possible through our partnership with World Hope International.

Habitat For Missions

Organization partnering with local churches

Habitat for Missions exists to glorify God by raising funds to support Christian ministries globally.

We do this by partnering with churches and organizations to buy, renovate and sell distressed houses and then donate 90 percent of the profit to a missionary or ministry designated by the partner.
Through our work we:
  • Create a non-traditional revenue stream that produces more money to support missions and ministries;
  • Promote volunteerism and enhance unity for our project partners;
  • Provide a quality, high-value home for our buyers; and
  • Benefit the communities in which our projects are located.

Suncoast Haven of Rest Rescue Mission

Located in St Petersburg, FL

Located in St Petersburg Florida, they serve the needy as a food pantry, day care center, rehabilitation center and a church.  They provide clothing and meet other physical needs while serving thousands of meals each month.  They provide catering to homeless shelters and bulk foods to other non-profit organizations in the county.  The purpose of meeting these physical needs is to present the opportunity of receiving the gift of salvation through Jesus to those they serve.
Our Missions team believes that these and other missions are vital in reaching our world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  In addition to supporting these missions, our team plans Local, National, and International missions trips at various times throughout the year.  If you are interested in joining or team or getting more information, please visit the Information Center in the foyer or contact Bev Lewis at the church office.

Florida M3 Movement

Florida District of the Wesleyan Church

Jesus has commissioned us to make disciples.  We need to be actively engaged as a team to multiply disciples, servant leaders and churches here in the Florida District & beyond by executing an effective multiplication plan.
We are doing this by setting goals (growth in attendance, developing new pastors and leaders, planting churches and partnering with overseas districts) and allocating our resources to best achieve those goals.

New Hope Wesleyan Church

Florida District of the Wesleyan Church

New Hope Wesleyan Church is located in Hudson Florida.  It is a small but growing congregation led by Pastor Eleanor Ladd and her husband Rodney.
They are reaching a struggling, stress-filled community with the message that there is a God in Heaven who loves each of us and who is FOR us!
